Police vw's

« on: August 19, 2010, 10:04:23 AM »
Heard on the radio this am that vw has donated 2 vw jetta wagens to the chattanooga police dept and they have accepted then and are going to use them for traffic detail.  this is a pretty big step because they usaully use american cars or at least that used to be the case.

That ad was at an antique shop behind the cracker barrel in east ridge. They wanted a pretty penny for it so I just enjoyed the story and kept walking

I bought it.....  :D

Actually, i saw it hanging in there for better than 6 months (Amanda and i are big time antique store hunters) Finally, i talked with the guy behind the counter, he called the dealer, we arranged a price (still a bit high, but i wanted it) and it was mine.  The other day we were in there, and she had another one, the same ad, up on the wall only now she was asking $25 instead of $35 for it.  I guess she finally believed me that it was overpriced.   ;)

I lived in South Carolina when the BMW plant was built there.  They donated a few M3's and motorcycles to the SC Highway Patrol.  Definitely a different look than you are used to.
