Polar Bear Ride 2010

« on: January 01, 2010, 06:17:46 PM »
What a great day. Our first New Years Day ride is in the bank. Man, it was fun. The weather was great. We had 14 cars with 28 people to show up for a ride no one knew anything about. It was a 67 mile ride with 14 Polar Bears hiding along the way. Three people found them all! We wound up at the Red Rock Cafe in Red Bank. It was the single largest group they have ever had. After awards and a great meal, I went home for a nap.
Thanks again for a great day and a great start for the new year. See ya on the 18th.

Thanks for heading this up Mike.  It was fun and my feet have almost thawed out now!  Something is up with the heat in Lamar's bug.  Usually it will melt the soles of your shoes. :)

14?  I think some folks were seeing double!   8)   I only saw 5 Polar Bears . . . well, six if you count one on the pole outside the Red Rock I saw when we were leaving.  I also saw a Polar Bear painted on a store window in Hixon, but that wasn't the kind we were looking for.  I also saw Smokie, but I think he's a Brown Bear, not a Polar.  I tried to count the real one we saw on Signal Mt., but Mike said just because it was as big as Polar Bear and white didn't mean it was a Polar Bear . . . turns out it was a BIG Pit Bull.  REALLY BIG and REALLY WHITE.   Pit Bull, Polar Bear . . . same thing . . . I wouldn't want to be near either one when they are hungry!

It was great to see some new folks and some old friends show up to help us make this a success.  I'm not really trying to make this year go by fast or anything, but I can't wait till next year . . .  8)
