I have this brand new Tacoma and yesterday I took it to the car wash and they put a itty bitty gouge in my dash. Now it's less than a inch long but it sticks out like a sore thumb. I took it back this morning and he took a picture of it and told me to bring it back tomorrow and see the owner. My delima is that it's a minor gouge but they did it. Would you pursue this incident? The gouge is in the air bag cover so it could cost a couple hundred dollars to repair. I hate stuff like this

I would.  If it was an older vehicle I might let it slide - gives it character etc.  But they did the damage and that's the reason they have insurance.

I hate stuff like that too . . . that's why I drive junk and never wash it!

But seriously, I wouldn't loose any sleep over asking them to repair the damage they did.  And it's not just your dash at stake here . . . If they gouge one dash and get away with it, they are likely to do it again to someone else.

Its stuff like that is what ruins the hobby for us Peons, but I will have to say if some Fool walked in and threw down about $20,000 for Albert I help them load up and wouldn't look back.

What do you mean? It seems to me that if you build your 6000 square foot home next door to my 2000sf home it would only increase my value. Am I seeing this in a Banker point of view?

Sort of.   What this does is take a $500 ragged out, rusted to the ground P.O.S. and  turns it into $8,000 -  $10,000 ragged out, rusted to the ground P.O.S. Even if it was a restorable car who can afford to buy it and then spend a kings ransom to put it on the road ?   Bill Gates, Warren Buffet maybe but not us Peons.  When some people see these kinds of prices  , they think that their pile of "soon returning to earth" cars are worth this kind of money.I have been watching this happen for years.
About 35 years ago I could have bought a 1943 Kubelwagen for $1,500 and was drivable . Now they bring about $35,000- $50,000 in a box. Of course they only built about 50,000 . I don't know how many survived the war, but it wasn't many. I don't think that our beloved little VWs have gotten to that stage yet

There were 42,505 Razor Ghias built in all years of production.
There are about 250 in driver status and maybe 2500 know to still exsist. (probably a few more rotting away in a barn) Anyways, I dont think it's a gold mine by far, maybe a money pit.....

Dont hold your breath to get rich on old VW's around here. Unless you have a few pristine splits and a couple of barndoor busses...nope???...didn't thinkl so.

Vw's are great for enjoyment and sometime aggrevation, short of that not much else.
Enjoy them while you can,In this world of stinkfoot tree huggers they'll probably be outlawed and you'll be forced to ride a scooter that runs on garbage. Yeah Democracy!!!!
