Old Age???

« on: August 28, 2006, 05:58:32 PM »
:-k I got up this afternoon and noticed a new 2006-2007 Georgia road map on the counter. Well I figured my "loving son" picked me up a new one while he was in Atlanta today. He works for the State so they must have sent some out to his division etc. Well I grab it and my other goodies and head out to work.

I get things organized at work and pull out the new map to give it the once over. The first thing I notice upon close examination are the words on the cover, "LARGE PRINT EDITION"  :? I open it up and Jesus, you can read this map from the passenger seat.     Now I realize my eyesight is not what it used to be, but I'm not that bad(yet). I think I have been had. (again) Actually the map is really good. No more small print, small roads, etc.

So I am going back to my "special map" from my "loving son" and scope out some new paths. Trust me I will get him for this!! I do not get even, I get ahead!!!

Hey Mo,   if he can get any more of those maps, I wouldn't mind having one. I'm tired of having to carry around a magnifying glass.

Moe , Herb was over at my place yesterday and said he had lost his glasses. If you get Herb a Ga. map he will have to have the extra, extra large edition showing the Ga. counties as big as Texas. I would have said as big as his bald head ,but I don't think the Ga. D.O.T. has a printing press that could print that large.

:?: So in other words Oh Mighty Godfather, you are saying that Herb needs the Super Duper Big Edition?? Seriously Herb I will get you one. They really are neat. The north half of the state is on one side and the south half on the other side. I think they have them at the rest areas too. Josh said it was not a joke!! Yeah right!!!

My eyesight went about two 0r three years ago.Kind of made me sad Ya'll thinking I was getting to the point that I have to have glasses to read now.Just unbelieveable how much better you can see when you put them on.I need one of those rope things you put around your neck with your glasses on them.I can see great at far distances but close up is all but gone.I use to be the only one of my friends that didn't need them,Now I have to join the crowd lol. :(

I went into glasses age 11. I was near sighted and couldn't see pass my nose. My Dad took me on a sighing tour on the way home with my new glasses and I saw things I didn't know that were there. Of course I had new names at school like 4-eyes , Blind Pew from the worlds perfect 20-20 kids.  I thought it kind of funny when I would run into my old 20-20 school buddies years later and they would be wearing glasses with lens that look like the bottom of a Coke bottle. I couldn't help but make a few comments  Snicker Snicker .
One sad thing was that one Guy that use to hound me to death is totaly blind from a college lab accident. I understood that he was "hitting" pretty hard on this girl in the lab and she picked up what she thought was a glass of water and slung it in his face. Turn out to be H2So4 .( Sulf. acid) ?

Herb because I can't remember it's got to be the memory  But the eyesight is close behind.Kind of like the chicken or the egg thing.I wanted to go to Toccoa car show but forgot until today when it was lol. Then was mad at myself because my memory is so bad.Now how could I forget Toccoa.I remember I was just going to go without the car this time and get to look more.I forgot. :x
