This past Thursday, our club printer died and went to printer heaven.  I got on the phone with Zen who picked up this printer on December 7, 2002.  When it was bought, an extended service (replacement) plan was purchased for an additional year of warranty. Our warranty ran out on Dec 6, 2004................3 days before the printer crapped out.

I began by calling the warranty center and the lady there said there wasn't anything she could do for us since the contract was expired. I then call the manager of the Office Depot on Gunbarrel Rd. Jeff is his name and I can't sing (if I could sing) his praises enough. After explaining the problem to him, he simply asked if we had the receipt and I told him we did. He told me to bring in the receipt and the dead printer and he would give us a new one.

The Scenic City Volks Folks are now the proud owners of a new HP 9650 color printer formated for the large paper we use.

Technically, this gentleman did NOT have to do this. This has truly been a very pleasant experience and the new printer has a 2 yr contract on it versus the one year we had on the previous printer.

I want to encourage EVERYONE. members and anyone else who may read this post to go to the Gunbarrel Office Depot for anything you may need that a store, such as this, may carry. I can tell you, they are GREAT folks.
