Nothing to do...

« on: December 14, 2015, 09:46:53 PM »
Well, if nobody's gonna post any neat pictures to look at, or stories to read...I guess I'll have to do it myself. I changed the oil in my '63 beetle, oil bath air filter too, adjusted 4 or 5 of the valves, set the points and drove to work.
Surely somebody, somewhere is doing something more better than I.
Merry Christmas to all !

It's been pretty slow on the site lately. I'm starting a new business selling water cooled vw cars

I am ACVW'less at the moment and I am also a cheep son of a gun so those do not mix well... I am on the prowl for a solid cheap bus and those are like hen's teeth.
I have a lead on 2, but one is a camper and I am looking for a straight bus at this point (4 kids wife and I cannot fit into a Ghia, beetle, or pretty much anything but a bus).

Merry Christmas, I have really enjoyed everyone's friendship over the past 8 years.
May all of our New Year's wishes come true.

Travis, good luck with your new business.  I hope that 2016 is a profitable year for you and your family.

KC

Yeah...good luck Travis! I hope 2016 is a healthy, happy and prosperous year for us all, and may all of us find an old VW in a barn somewhere. A straight one with no rust!
The car, not the barn...the barn can be rusty.

I'm in the process of pulling the 5 speed tranny from my grandson's 96 Jetta to a 96 Jetta "parts car" I bought a couple of weeks ago.  I work slow these days.  I've got a little over 2 weeks off starting Friday afternoon . . . maybe I'll get it finished this year.  Can't post pictures.  I lost my camera's charger.  Got a new one and a couple of spare batteries ordered.  I'm sure they will be here before I finish this project . .. .

I feel like life hasn't stopped since September!

But to add to it, I picked up another "non-VW" project tonight! It should be a good one once I figure out the lack of gas at the engine.

I forgot...who was doing the buggy...shortening and welding the frame ? Any new progress on that ? It was looking good. I tried to weld once or twice. I could make really neat sparks and stick the welding rod to stuff, but that's as far as I got.
I had a rail buggy many years ago and had a blast with it.

Be still, gentlemen.... yeah, it was me...  :)

I have made a little progress on it, but got swamped by orders in the pottery/ sewing categories, and have been playing catch up.

Plus, let's not forget life, and all of that craziness...

I did manage to get my pans welded patly in, just need to finish up the center/ frame tunnel area.  then gotta weld patches over the extra holes I made from the heater cables.  Also got the transaxle back together, and was gonna slip the drums on to be able to roll the thing around.  Once that's all done, I will be taking it back home to finish up with the pan work... sealing, painting, etc.  Then I can start actually assembling everything.    Just in time for blizzard 2016 Season....

It's a 74 Audi fox. It needs all of it really. It does run. It does not stop.

Things I am also working on.

A 75 scirocco.

My Harliquin

And a turbo diesel jetta. 81 model.
