No H2O - All air-cooled, all the time

« on: December 01, 2003, 08:11:06 PM »
The Neon backed out of the driveway for the last time Sunday.  It sold on eBay to a student from Ga Tech who promptly hopped a Greyhound to Chattanooga to get it and drive home (he e-mailed and said he made it fine) :)
Now it's the Beetle for the "daily beater" and the Bus for whenever!  Plus a little money to get the Vee ready for next season.  Yes, I'm lovin' it! :D

Don't let him fool you.

He hears another car out there calling his name......he just hasn't found it yet.

He finally heard the call.........from a lonely 79 westy (green of course)!

It is like Sweetpea but is in much need of attention and $$$.

So needless to say, we now have another green westy.  His and Hers.....not really, but that's what my parents say.

Yes, that's the one.  Its big selling point was the freshly rebuilt engine (currently sitting behind the passenger seat).  its got an original 112K miles, a BA6 gas heater and a complete original interior.  The body has surface rust at the seams and some rot in the wheel arches.  It also needs roof canvas.  Its not too bad overall.  I've seen worse at campouts.  It will be for sale once running or anytime really.  I plan to swap the engine for mine so it should be a reliable driver.  I probably won't get to it until the spring.  Gotta get a couple of other projects done first!
