O.M.G.  Linda and I were coming from Ham. Mall and was driving down Concord road when we saw a herd of city workers with a Big Back Hoe digging a ditch in the road. A cement mixer, workers with shovels, P.U. trucks standing by. Linda and I were thinking that Nick, The gas pipe man, was at it again. O.M.G. what a relief when we saw this work was going on down the street from where his last adventure was. WHEW.

Well I know it wasn't Texas City back in the '40s or '50s because you were not a gleam in your Daddy's eyes at that time. ;D ;D

I passed probably 100 or so utility trucks on the way home from Birmingham Saturday. I thought for sure they were headed for Nick's house but he was in Birmingham too. Turns out they were going to DC instead for hurricane relief.

I do. But I'm working on that.

Apparently where I put my trash cans for the first year or so allowed them to pick up the can, flip it upside down, PULL UP ON MY electrical lines with the trashcan on the lift and dump into their truck. I found that out on a day off.... now I put them on the other side of the driveway...

But that day (7-22-11) I only lost my A/C, Natural Gas and Water. We kept electricity and internet/cable. ;D ;D ;D

BTW Nick, several of our construction crew at work were just awarded with the "Golden Backhoe Award", recognized for showing safety skills for digging and while using a backhoe. Maybe something you can aspire to ;D

I think we need a full-size cardboard stand-up  of nick... and anytime someone sees a gas leak (or other tragedy) snap a picture of "nick" standing next to it.

would be hilarious....

Good news guys!!!

My dad called earlier today and said their water bills have shot sky high. Looks like my talents are needed again!!! We were out with dowsing rods trying to locate the existing pipe. Turns out the leak is somewhere around the large tree that fell on their escalade in april. And where mushrooms have been growing since the end of july, despite the lack of rain...

Looks like I get to dig some more!!!
