New Year's Resolutions

« on: December 30, 2008, 11:48:06 AM »
I'm tired of making the same old resolutions that I never keep . . . loose weight, fix Homer's oil leaks, finish remodling the bathroom in our cabin, etc.  This year I've made one I'll actually keep.  In fact, the new year hasn't even started and I'm halfway finished.  My resolution for 2009 was to take down the 2007 calendar beside my computer and put up one for 2009!   :D  I just put up a 2009 calendar, and this one has the full year on it so I don't even worry about flipping the pages each month.   8)   The only thing I didn't do was take down the 2007 calendar first; I just covered it up with the new one.

Another resolution I'm considering is to try to be less lazy in 2009 . . . which means I need to loose weight.  Maybe if get out there and fix some oil leaks and work on the bathroom I'll loose some weight.    OK, that probably ain't gonn'a happen . . . but at least I won't be looking at December 2007 for another year!

Hope every has a safe and happy new year!   :occasion5:

My  top 3 resolutions.

1. To be more thankful for what I have in my life that is REALLY important.
2. To stop my use of profanity. My parents did not raise me to say some of the things I catch myself saying.    It MUST stop!!!
3. To stop being such a couch potato.

So Happy New Year to all of you. I wish you and your loved ones all the best.

I would like the resolve myself of profanity too.   That will be one  for me

I need to be  thankful for all the good things in my life and
not depressed about the less than optimal things

Quit drinking would be a good one to.

Happy New Year   SC

Mine is to stop using my pregnancy as an excuse to be lazy (laziness has always been my weakness).  And to be a good mommy once Peanut comes around...
AND to move back to Chatty...eventually...

Never underestimate the power of laziness.  We've always heard "necessity is the mother of invention."  Well, I've always said that laziness is its daddy!    I've worked in a manufacturing plant since I was 18 and I've seen it happen thousands of times . . . give someone a task and a procedure to acomplish the task and sit back and watch.  Highly motivated, industrious folks will jump right on it and follow the instructions to the letter and never question it.  A lazy person will first sit back and look at what needs to be done and try to come up with an easier way to do it.   8)

I'm not making any. I know too well that resolutions are like promises you make to yourself...and promises are made to be broken. Life can be going along fine and then bumps appear that throw you waaaay off course. Bumps like divorce, bankruptcy, foreclosure, layoffs.  Maybe I'll make a few "I'll try to's"...

I'll try to get a job that I can keep and not get laid off from that pays me what I think I am worth.

I'll try not to make the same stupid mistakes that I have made.

I'll try to get back to and retain the happiness that I have strayed from.

I'll try to try.
