Alabama and Michigan were the other two . . . so we have a 2 out of 3 chance of getting a VW plant in the Southeast.  It would be cool if Chattanooga ended up with it!

That would be pretty neat.   But don't count on it.  Chattanooga will find a way to screw it up like they always do. :(  :(

So I guess they didn't choose that site that is a couple of miles away from me  . Cause they were looking at Pooler, GA at a site that is already leveled and ready to be built on. Mercedes all but broke ground there twice, and BMW and Audi have both looked at it once. I mean the site seems ideal since the Port is a couple of miles away and a railroad yard is also close by.

Not only Toyota but Hyundai,  Carlin Black Label brewery,  Pittsburg Paint & Glass and a few more that I can't remember.  Of course Dupont pulled out.  A lot of it was over taxes.  Its really sad. This my home town.  Born and raised here
A few years ago a friend of mine showed me a little artical in the Wall Street Journal that stated if a corporation couldn't sell its product anywhere ,send it to good old Chattanooga. We became the dumping ground of the Southeast. Big money folks in this town do not want big business around here. They can't buy it so they can't control it. Go figure

A "mystery group" toured the scenic city recently. The rumor is that they were from Volkswagen.

This article makes it sound like it's down to Tennessee or Alabama, and Volkswagen is expected to make a decision by July 8.

I heard on the news this morning that inside sources are saying the plant is going to be built at the site west of Huntsville, AL.  However, VW is still seriously considering the Chattanooga site for a smaller engine plant.  A decision is supposed to be made tomorrow and get manament's final approval next week.

VW didn't make a decision today. Maybe on the 15th.

That's probably bad news for Huntsville . . . don't know that it's good news for Chattanooga though.  It sounds like Michigan is really putting forth the effort to grab the plant.  I wonder what kind of tax incentives TN has offered them?
