I may be a little off on the exact model number but it looks like one of these:

I've seen some repos,   The hazet ones are pricey even used and abused,  glad we don't have a German tool truck that comes to the shop,  I would be in trouble

When I first started loom fixing back in the early 80s I could buy tools through the company at their cost and pay $25 a week, up to $500 at a time.  Sulzer, the company that made our looms, is Swiss, but they sold German tools.  I think the Hazet tool cart back then ran about $200.  I never bought one because I needed too many tools . . . buy the time I got all the tools I needed, they were no longer carrying the cart.  If I had only known, I would have bought a bunch of them and put them in storage.

This one doesnt have hazet stamped in it but it appears to be identical to a lot of the 166's. It will work out for what I want to use it for, which is toting my tools around the driveway!

Not much worse than Snap-On Travis - 10mm through 22mm.  Most of the Snap-On sets stop at 19mm.

That does look like one of the clones of the 166 Assistents from back in the day....

I managed to snatch up one of the original style carts after they released the new version back in the '90s (?  I think... I've had it forever now.)

I always liked the older version, so when the new ones came out, I started making some phone calls, and found two of them in New York, at Zelenda who had been importing VW tools since the '50s.  They had one with fixed posts and one with the collapsible ones.  I ordered the one with collapsible posts, and he even offered me a big discount because he was "trying to clear that version out of his stock"... Yay me... got a call about an hour and a half later, turned out that someone loading the large boxes on the shelves had managed to run a forklift arm through the box, and it punched through the tub...  He offered me an even better discount on the other one that he had, and I happily took it.  I could honestly say that I bought the last one in the U.S.

Actually, the older version was so popular, that they ended up re-releasing them for a while.  I still use mine in the garage at home.  It's great for that, but never was quite big enough to roll around at work.  Mine is still in great shape, and I wouldn't give it up for anything.  Like Travis said, even the used up ones still bring some pretty big bucks.  If you are gonna use it, there is nothing wrong with one of the copies... These things are pricey to say the least.  When I bought mine, years ago, the retail on the fixed post version like I bought was over $700.  I can say that I payed about half, brand new in the box.   ;D

oooooohhhhh pretty!!!

Yeah mine isn't that nice, but I plan on using it around the garage/driveway so it'll do. The only thing that is bothering me now is that I don't have any dividers in it...so I guess I need to track some down or make some.

Yeah... the dividers do help to keep it all straight.  They are basically nothing more than flat sheet steel with one lip rolled completely over, to stiffen them.

I love my Assistent.  Like I said, if you are gonna use it, a copy is just as good as the real deal.  That way you wont faint when you roll it across the driveway, hit a bump, and dump it over (which, incidentally, mine has done a couple of times...  :-\)  That's some tough paint...

The people who buy them up as collector's items kill me... It's a tool cart, for cryin' out loud... use it...  :D
