New Reading Material!

« on: March 27, 2012, 01:09:00 PM »
My bud was at McKay's and scored me an advanced non edited copy of the "Thinking Small: The long, Strange trip of the Volkswagen Beetle."
It is cool.  It is a copy that was sent to the book reviewers for review.  I believe it has some attributes that didn't make it to the final printed version.  (some of the photos are marked because they had not received permission to use them yet...)
Any one else read this book, my copy shows it was to go on sale January 17th of this year.
It is almost like a scholastic history book, but ALL VW Beetle!!!
Any way I'm stoked and cannot wait to read it.  This will be the first book that isn't school related I've read in a while.

Read this:  9 Lives Later    by William Post.  Best book on VW I have ever read. Lots of info on Military also .   Out of print since '68 I think but you can still find them at Amazon used.

I still have my original print version... It's actually the one my dad got in the late '60s when he wrote VW for info regarding the Beetle.  They sent him this book.  It still has the little white business card that reads "Compliments of VW of America".... Coool Stuff.... and, like David said, a DARNED good book.
