I am looking for a VW truck or a van that I can turn into a truck for a FIRST car I am turning 16 in a few months and would like a good vehicle. I can only pay around $1000 because being a teenager I can not get a job. Our forum doesn't have a vast classifieds area, but thesamba.com has a classifieds section that you can search within a certain radius of you home zip code. I think that by doing some research, you will see the outrageous prices that a lot of these buses are going for. I also don't think that you will not be able to easily convert a van into a truck.

By truck do you mean the old ('60s, 70's) single cabs? or the 80's rabbit trucks?

If you want a $1000 bus, you'll also need to plan to learn how to maintain and work on them. Lots. Good ones aren't cheap and cheap ones aren't going to be good-when you get them, at least.

That also means you'll need to start looking for a job.

i have a friend who has one that he might let go for 1500 not sure, it runs but needs a front axle and some front wheel cylinders, does have a new engine and alot of other parts
