Mixed Feelings

As a few of you know, I have been a visitor to your site for a while now. I've posted some pics and joined in a few of your topics.
I'm from the Chicago Area and am the Vice President for Harsh Winters Volkswagen Club.
A few years back when our club was starting up(before I was interested in it). They decided to start having annual shows. They came up with Bug-a-palooza for the name and I guess there was some negitive feedback from some of you folks at Scenic City. I don't think they were trying to steal the name, but it is similar to have a lot of shows called "Dub Fest", "Bug Fest" ect.  Anyways, I plan on coming down to your show this April, but I was just wondering if anyone there that has an objection to this. I'm hoping there is no hard feelings over this, but if there is, I will remove myself from your forums and won't come to your show.
Sincerly, Big Joe

Bring yourself and as many others as you can drag with you.

I openly stated during that brief exchange that I was the one who pointed out that someone else was using the "Bugapalooza" title and how "neat was that".  I had no idea of what was to follow.

I also stepped in and explained that there was never any intention for ill will from me.

No need to go back there...C'mon down!

I wasn't exactly sure of what took place in the forums back then, Someone else in the club had mentioned to me about this when I brought up that I was going down to your show.
Thank you for the positive feedback, I beleive anyone involved with Dubs are all good people and share the same common interest in keeping the ol' dubs alive along with good fellowship! I look forward to coming down with my wife and I should have at least one other family coming down too.
Thanks, Big Joe

The "World Wide Web" is a great thing in a lot of respects, but it can be a bit impersonal.  It's real easy to say the wrong thing or have it taken the wrong way when you aren't looking someone face to face.  Any "issues" are in the past . . . and besides that, they didn't even happen on our forum or the Harsh Winter's forums anyway.   8)  Come on down! Y'all are more than welcome here!   :hippy2:

I know from experience sometimes things don't come out right when you are typing something and some may take it wrong. That's the part of emailing and forums Idon't like.To me there can't be that serious unless someone has screwed someone out of some $ maybe. If in question just take the sentence out then even yourself won'tbe guessing right Zen?

I wouldnt care about the name (though it still throws me off when people refer to bug jam... i think of FL but they are usually refering to the one in europe which i think is much bigger)... so long as you dont tamper with the dates! i hate when people do that!

I think the more the merrier at the vw show....

and now i need to finalize my decision on the show i have been going to for the past nearly 10 years and the show that is equidistant from me that is having their first show the same weekend this year

Well you can just call it bug jelly instead of jam.

I echo the previous statements; come on down!

Before ANY of us get too proud...
Having been there at the time we began planning BP 1, weren't we "inspired" by the name of a certain annual MUSIC FESTIVAL that was big in the mid-late '90s???

(no, not Bonarroo, Lollapaluza!)

Good thing no one from there wanted to raise a fuss, or we might be preparing the next "Bug Jelly" show!
