mig welders

Hey, I`m looking to buy a mig welder. At best,I`m "dauber" with a stick welder. I may accidently be able to learn how to use a Mig outfit ,but I don`t know which type to get. Whats best, a gas/wire or flux/wire. I guess the gas/wire would cost much more. To use once in a while, would it be worth the difference? What is the advantage of the gas/wire over flux/wire? Maybe some Pro-welder can help me out here.  ???

I'm no pro welder but I have researched a bit on the matter. If you want to do any body work I would recommend the Gas Shielded MIG Setup, It is a clean weld without any slag removal required. If you go the flux cored wire route your looking at a weld that ends up having to have slag chipped off ot the welded surface.

I had a Lowes brand Welder ( Cambell Housefield ) it had a the preset regulator for gas use built onto the Unit and it worked great for my welding needs ( Cost about 400.00 ) but recently I purchased a Miller unit for Finer Voltage and wire speed control. ( 1,100.00 )

In the Welding Arena you truely do get what you pay for. All my welding/cutting equipment is Miller Now.

Go to Awesome Welding info and products

Hope this helps.
