CNN ran a story on the new VW Micro bus today, they said its on the way.... might be out in 2004, it looked very cool!

that VWOA and VWAG have filed for a trademark on the "MICROBUS" logo. This looks similar to the popular New Beetle logo, and "could be evidence to that proposed new model launch."

Someone told me VW has redesigned the nose on the microbus because the original looked too 'agressive'. Can anyone confirm this (with pictures)?

Speaking of hacks, here's a few more I've dug up.

I really like the look of the large, round headlights. Let's hope VWoA is paying attention to the Photoshop junkies out there - 'agressive' is not one of the words that comes to mind when one thinks of a Samba.

Hey, just turn the NewBeetle headlights sideways, like they did in the T1 and T2s!

:0 We saw a fantastic VW commercial last night. All animated, it started with a Beetle, then showed a Samba, Ghia, Thing, Rabbit, NewBeetle, then said something like "what could be the next thing coming down the road", while showing a teeny-tiny squarish shape that looked an awful lot like the New Samba!!! :0 :0

IMHO, it's the best commercial since the one with the wedding!

I saw that too! Got all excited by the time they showed the Ghia. And I had the same thoughts about the little tiny square, leave it to us Volksfolks to pick up on that, you know that VWoA realizes that the mass public has no idea the meaning behind most of it or the implication of the new Bus. Could it be a glimmer of VW showing a little bit to it's "Old-School Faithful"?
