Man Card....

« on: April 16, 2013, 11:17:20 PM »
Ok, I am afraid I am going to have to turn in my Man Card....
I bought a sewing machine last saturday to make a prototype tent for the westfalia that is easily removable for cleaning, etc.
Well, I then deciced that the skanky rotten cover for the rear pad in my 70 just will not do, so I just made another cover for it this evening, then I decided I needed a Long front curtain for the front since I didn't have one of those either, privacy is a must for me and the girls now that we are going camping!
Any way I am wondering why I didn't get one of these 20 years ago...
I have already scoped out some white vinyl for the Allison's Bikini top next....
Some one stop me I am out of controll.
I litteraly spent 20 minutes setting this thing up and reading how to thread it then BAMO I have been a sewing fiend since.
I did spring for the High UV outside grade thread...

I'll return your man card to you. I won second place in the county fair for quilting a few years ago. One of the many things I've done! I learned to see in like second grade and have been fixing things ever since! Megan keeps getting on to me because I haven't had time to hem her pants...

My step mom has a heavy duty sewing machine that can sew leather and heavy vinyl,  they have made boat covers,  rv covers,  gonna have her make a winch cover.  They are very handy.

I will need the old cover and some fabric.
But, I will only do it if you paint the valve cover to match!
LOL,

I used a 65 year old Singer 66 that I picked up at an estate sale for $10 to patch a pair of my blue jeans.  I'll keep my man card though, because I had to clean, oil, adjust, and re-wire the machine before I could use it.   ;D

Bring it on and I'll try to get it at BAP.
OR bring it by the house this evening and I'll try to sew it up for you.
oops, I have church... Will be home by 8 or so though.
Text me for Address.
Then you will need me to make the suit for you like that guy on the samba...

When are you Guys going to set up a "Volks Folks" sewing and quilting circle ?  You all could sit around sewing, swapping recipes and sing old folk songs and hymns and discuss why Grandma Sizemore dropped a valve seat in her camper. ;D ;D
