Looking for a 1968 Beetle

« on: December 20, 2004, 01:07:06 AM »
Just wondering if anyone out there has 1968 Beetle?  If so, please check your VIN.  I know it's a million to one shot . . . or maybe not . . . depends on how many they made that year.  Anyway, I know the odds are NOT in my favor, but . . .  I'm looking for the current owner of VIN #118551400.

My father-in-law bought the car new on March 18, 1968 and financed it through South Orlando First National Bank in Orlando, FL.  He sold it sometime in the 1970s in St. Cloud, FL.  If you currently own this car, please contact me.   I've got an interesting piece of your car's early history . . .      8)

Hey Zen,

What was the car's original color?  I know the history of my 68, but there is a another light blue 68 behind my granddad's barn.

I'm not really sure, but I'm thinking it was light blue.  Joy's family owned 3 or 4 different Beetles and at least one Bus when she was young . . . I have a picture of Joy and one of her brothers with a light blue sedan in the background.  They appear to be about the ages they would have been in 68 or 69.  I'll find out for sure when Joy gets home.
