You don't have to eat Chinese.  They have "merican" food also. Matter of fact, You don't have to eat.

These are very interesting... does the name come from the fact the hood is almost dragging on the ground?

I hope that is one reason for the name and not what it means in the rest of the auto world.  Check "Hood ride" on Google. We don't need that kind of thing at BP-9.

I don't have a problem with what the U.S.A. calls a "Hoodride" , AKA "Rat Rod" as long as the look is reversable and the car can be restored back to original condition.
Folks with "split window" Bugs should be shot on sight if they even think about "Hood Riding"  or any other modifications.   Hint,Hint,

Scott, I've been hearing vicious rumors about him lately.  Something about Dune Buggy . . . and some new "pad" he's been hanging 'round . . . ???  I don't know.  I've just heard bits and pieces.  I think I've even seen him wearing tie-died once or twice.   :-k   Rec'n he's gone back back to the 60's?     Maybe I need to go back and look for him.

YEP !!!
Dune Buggy =  Shades of the '60s
New Pad     =  Flat concrete slab to work on
        Bits& pieces =  The Buggy
Tie-dye      =  Blood stained work togs( nicks and cuts) from Buggy

Come on back.  Its more fun back here.

And when you get as old as I am and hear things like:
Can you take the slack up on my binders ?
Can you top off my Batt- Tray
I want Mr ( insert name) to work on my machine because he always gives me full measure.
I don't want no young " whipper-snapper" messing with my machine.
( I still don't where that term comes from)
Can you ajust my "poppets" ?

and you realize you know what they are talking about, Then you know its more fun "back here"  I think I will just stay here

Of course you wouldn't understand. I wouldn't expect you to.
Zen asked if I might have gone back to the '60s and should he go back and try to find me.
The '40- '50-'60s were a simpler and happy time for me to grow up along with being around  older folks with long lossed "sayings" and different definitions of things in their time and you could go to the store without  GPS ,go camping without a dang Lap Top, go hiking without a 300 watt. Walkman jammed in your ear listening to some Rapper talking about how many Drive-By's he's done.
Go back to the '50-'60 ?  What do you think ?   I've been there, you haven't and you may not want to. Thats OK too.
