I remember that group. They really lived up to their club name!!     There were some of them that I would hate to meet in a dark alley unless I was fully armed and had backup!!

In all fairness to the folks formerly associated with that group, for the most part they were pretty cool folks.  Some of them still frequent area VW shows and are welcome to do so.  It wasn't that "everyone in the organization" was a hell raiser.  There were just a few who were hell raisers to the extreme and ended up trashing the reputation of the whole group.  This was a good example of how a few folks can ruin a good thing for a lot of people.  And again, it wasn't the young folks of the group that did the dammage and it wasn't the group as a whole.

True Zen. I did not mean that "All" of the members were on the outer fringe of the universe. Some actually sat and discussed our restoration, parts suppliers etc. It is like you said, a few can ruin it for all.

I think that the splitty is the poster child of hoodride... and also took best of show last weekend at bugs on the pier... and those were for the most part, NOT "hoodrides"

 Been a while since I've been on the board. I didn't realize my remark would get things stirred. The remark was also meant for member's we have that are "dormant", putting it nicely. As for "Hoodrides" I travel the roads frequently here in "Clevegas" and haven't run across any yet. I would like to talk to some of them to see if they are what I would call "legitimate" for club participation or whether to let them do their own thing. We definitely don't need a bad influence or other people seeing some bad influence in the club. :?:  :?:

8) Also as for "Packing" I don't think I need to talk about that. I'll let Sig Sauer do any talking. And did I mention I have Excellent vision to dot the "I"?

Hmmmm !  Do Muzzle Loaders count ?  Say about 58 cal. 630 grain slug moving kind of slow but with a impact of a D-9 Cat. You just need one shot don't you ?

I've been off of here a few days and I'm trying to catch up AGAIN. Somebody needs to call from time to time like Randy just did and tell me to check the message board. (I've been helping my cousin with his log house)
The one group everyone is talking about had a few "members" who were capable of ruining the reputation of the whole Volkswagen community, not just their individual club. Let's keep in mind, we are, or profess to be a "family oriented" group. I don't  feel substance abusers and power drinkers fall into this category. What one does in the privacy of his or her home or, as far as that goes, away from any club function, I don't care what they do as long as they don't discredit us and do it at a club function. If you can't refrain from partaking for a short period of time (weekend) then, you have a problem and should seek help for it.

Muzzle loaders DO count, Godfather. Quality, not quantity, will more times than not, prevail

I don't foresee any booze hounds or hell raisers seeking admission into the club at all.As a matter of opinion I doubt actual participating membership will grow by much in the year to come.I figure more of the same 30+ years old and new to VW will be the profile for years to come.
That's my 2 cents.

P.S. I like quality with quantity so I vote for the M-240B as a weapon of choice if you had one.If you want to go the one shot method try the M-24.
