kudos

When I encounter good customer service these days I like to pass it on to others. It's so rare in "the good ole days". Here is a e-mail I received from M&T MFG regarding a recent order.......

Dear Mrs. Howard:

We have received your order for parts for your 1971 Super Beetle
Convertible. Our VW expert (and company owner) reviewed your order and
determined that a couple of the products your ordered were actually
duplicated within other parts.  For example: the Floor Pan to Body Set of
Mounting Bolts contains all the parts in the Floor Pan Hardware Kit, so we
don't believe you need both.

You ordered Steel Tracks for Seat Guides, and the steel tracks are built
right into the floor pans that you have ordered. Also, there is a price
change in the Boot you ordered. The price is actually $120, not $160 as
mentioned on the web.

All in all, your product total for this order is $475.00, (versus $586.80)
shipping equals $85.86, therefore your total for this order (and the amount
charged to your credit card) is $560.86.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact us. You items
should be shipped within the next day or two.

Thank you for ordering with M&T Mfg., and have a pleasant day.

I boo-boo'ed and instead of just shipping me parts I didn't need they actually looked at my order

Here you go Zen.

I am assuming they are the same company that Virgo used since they have the same name. I was also on this site before looking at tops for Cabriolet, which I might add where the cheapest, and best quality  out of the recommend sites from other Cabby owners

I'll go ahead and throw some kudos out there for Busted Bus. They stock lots of new and used parts for 68-79 bays including some hard to find stuff. While they don't really have an online inventory, you can send them a parts inquiry via email and they will get back to you.

I sent them an email on July 4th asking for an original chrome gas cap, and within about 30 minutes Chris at Busted Bus emailed me back letting me know they had one. On a holiday, no less. I said I'd take it and he sent me an invoice and I paid through PayPal.

When the cap arrived it was used but in very good condition, it fit perfectly and had a good rubber seal on the back. I've since bought some more parts from Busted Bus, he's also got a lot of FI stuff which is handy.
