Just checking on everybody....

« on: March 02, 2011, 11:33:10 AM »
Just wanted to see how everyone is doing after the crazy weather back on Monday.  We still are without power at our house on the mountain, big trees down all over the place....  My aunt and uncle got hit hard in Red Bank.  trees down all over the yard, two hit the house, one came through the ceiling in their living room.  took out the back window of their Crown Vic, and flattened my cousin's International Scout...

Here at work, it was over in about 10 mins... scary stuff while it lasted though.  Ripped our front sign out of it's frame.  Our neighborhood that first night on the way home was like something out of a movie.  Redirected multiple times, Folded over signs, Bark ripped off of trees, blocked roads and downed power lines.... One tree that fell near us, the root system was the size of a small box truck.  Amazing part is nobody was injured, just property damage.

Twister hit about thirty feet behind our house in Hixson. Hugh tree took out poles and lines. Power Board workers told us this morning that it may be Sunday or later before help. We are now at Paneras eating and using their wifi.
We are still going ahead with the PB Run on sat. morning. I'll do anything to get out of the house!

Wow, thats a lot worse than I had it. We lost power from 2:30-close at work (north chatt) and then I got home and there were sticks in my yard and the rotors I just had turned had flash rust on them. Other than that, I survived.

Glad you guys are ok. Hope your situations improve soon.

We were lucky in Ringgold to only get some rain and wind. Glad everyone is safe, that was a nasty storm.

Nothing at our house, but Jen's (daughter) house was damaged by a HUGE tree that fell on it.  She's in Red Bank and was in the path of the tornado.  It should be OK, but for now, they're staying with us.  Power box was ripped off when the tree fell, holes in the roof and siding gutters torn off.  Very lucky...10 feet the other way and we'd be talking a whole other ballgame.

Mike's power is still off...they just left here.  The good news is he said EPB was working on it this morning, so maybe they'll have power BEFORE Sunday!

WOW !! Glad everyone made it through OK.  Linda was at work on Sig Mtn and said it got pretty wild.
We didn't have any damage here at home(Brainerd Hills) at all. Just a lot of horiz. rain and wild, wild winds. Me and the Pup spent a little time in the basement waiting for something to fly. We got lucky. Power never even blinked.

Not too bad here in Hixson, lost power for 36 hours but no missing shingles, fallen trees, etc.
