It's Never Boring in LaFayette!

« on: February 08, 2003, 05:58:18 PM »
Earlier today I was in the back yard digging through parts trying to find a coil for my bus when a fire truck went by.  A couple of minutes later another one.  Then three police cars a few seconds later.  Then another fire truck.  Then an ambulance.  Then another fire truck.  I started wondering what was up when Haz-Mat truck went screaming by.

About three blocks from my house a single engine airplane crashed through the roof of a house!  They said that no one was hurt and the pilot walked out the front door.  I just road by there . . . the rear of the plane is sticking straight up in the air, the tip of one wing sicking out the roof over the front of the house, the tip of the other sticking out over the back.   :O

Sorry, I don't have a digital camera.  Gotta get one!  I looked at all the local TV stations' web sites and couldn't find any pictures either.  NewsChannel9.com has a story, but no pictures.

I saw that on Channel 3 news last night. He landed in a strange place but any landing like that you can walk away from is a good landing. That remark is from personal experiences.           LOL

There is a small field across the road and about two houses down he was trying to make it to.  But, considering the angle he hit, it's a good thing he didn't make it!  What would have happend if the house had not of been there to "cushion" the impact?  Yeah, it really wasn't a bad landing!

If you were the pilot, what would you say to the people in the house?  "I was in the neighborhood and thought I'd drop in?"   LOL  :D
