I drive mine each day to work, and I'm like you...the heat is not so bad with the 2/50 AC running.  Maybe partially because "My give-a-damn is busted"

I spent a few years driving a Beetle, then upgraded to a bus (got too fat to fit in the Beetle) and then about 2 years ago I stopped driving an air-cooled VW on a daily basis and moved up to a '84 S-10.  The Bus and S-10 both had AC at one time, but it was long before I started driving them.  AC in a vehicle is over rated, but I do wish the S-10 had vent windows.
