Interior work

« on: April 17, 2006, 11:58:03 PM »
Well my wife tore my interior out yesterday. She got a wild hair and decided white and maroon would look nice for the show I guess. Anyhow she's been doing some interior work for my friends for boats, motorcycles, and now my bug. She used to do Honda interiors but I didn't say that.

I don't know how much detail time she'll have on mine because she finishing it on Friday but it will be there. Anyways take a look and if you would like some work done let her know. She ain't runnin a sweatshop so she wont do 3 cars in 3 days but I'm sure she can meet your timeline.Works great if your not in a huge rush like me. :)
I believe Moose is first in line,so we will get the buss mesured up and start looking for a good match on material for you first thing.

Dang!!  Interiors yet ? If the SCVFs keep gathering all these folks with different talents, we are going to have to start up a " One Stop-in House Restoration" business. I wonder how many other VW clubs can claim that?  I'm sure there are some, but I bet they are far and few between. :-k

Be careful of what you say,but keep dreaming. You never can tell what may happen. I had a dream about 45 years ago and was pretty persistent about it and you know what ?  It came true. Its been a hell of a trip and thanks to people like you and the rest of the SCVF members a few wires were re-soldered back together and the trip goes on. I'm having way to much fun. I get a big kick out of watching people discover VWs for the first time or find that "treasure" in a field/barn and watch their faces light up like a child at Christmas time as they drag that poor dejected hulk back to their homes to lovingly restore back to its former glory.  Why ? I know why. Enough said ! :-k

That might be a good investment for a VA loan. I think it might come in handy when I tear mine apart next year.

Well she got it all but the door panels in. It was red and white with the herbie stripe carried through it. She was upset that hardly anybody saw it.I think she did good. I doubt it could have been better. Did I mention it was done in 2 days? The vw emblem stiched in the seat was cool!

I didn't get a chance to look at much of anything over the weekend . . . You gott'a bring it to our next cruise-in!  I'd like to find someone to make some seat covers for Homer with his "Super Bus" shield stitched in the backs . . . Think your wife might be interested in the job?

I made some door panels once . . . I thought they were pretty cool, but my wife and kids laughed at 'em.  I thought the grey velour with little toy trucks and trains and sail boats was pretty cool.    I guess interior restorations ain't exactly my strong point.   I'll stick to paint and body work.

This is exactly what I have been looking for. I am going to need an interior put in my 68 Double cab in a few weeks. Do you think she would be interested in taking a look at it and giving me an estimate? Let me know.

It has been in the building stage for some time now so no, I'm not driving it. I've got the engine built but haven't put it or the tranny in yet. I'm concentration on the split window bus right now to get her back on the road. I just finished the long block for her with the Godfathers help and I hope to get it in in the next few days. I've gone thru brakes, tranny, engine, wiring, etc. so she will be pretty much new. I will get with you about the double cab.
