I See Green Westies

« on: October 23, 2005, 11:46:11 PM »
I was talking to Homer the other day and he said "I see green Westies.  They're everywhere . . . and they don't even know they're green!"

Hummmmm . . . I think he's been hanging 'round green Westies a little too much.  It looks like they are finally getting to him.

   :glasses8:  :alien:

Oh, and Herb . . . Homer said to tell you Thanks!

Hey ! Those Green Westys are just green with envy of the fabulous Homer. What other type-2 can you think of thats been through what Homer has and survived being burned, beat on, toss on the junk heap a few times and still can drag a Bug out of the Hendrix Compound in the "Trangle" to my house much less win more awards than I have seen other type-2s win. All green Westys should be honored that Homer would lower himselve in the world of "Busdum" to the wearing of the green.

If Homer didn't stand out in the crowd before, he does now!

I've got another idea that will REALLY make him stand out.  Gott'a dig up enough magnets to mount my other "Ugliest VW" trophy on the roof first.  Insted of having one in the center, there will be one on each side of the roof kind'a "Mickey Mouse Ear" style.  This will become the anchor for the next addition to the "Superbus" look.  Stay tuned.

Mickey ears. Hmmm sounds familar. Did you use real paint ? It'll be hard to defend the title with real paint. I good roller and brush would do fine.

Actually, I didn't paint anything . . . but Homer now has a small part of an original sprayed-on-at-the-factory-in-Germany paint job.  This was "bolt on" paint job.

However, when I do paint anything, I ALWAYS use real paint.  Krylon is real paint.  So is the Wal-Mart house brand that cost a lot less than Krylon.  So is Rustoleum . . . but it's way too expensive.

Look . . . Out in the driveway . . . it's a . . . a . . . a . . .   Hummmm . . . don't really know what it is.  But is turing green!

Homer sure is proud of his rust free, bondo free driver's side door!

Ok, Zen.  Here is the next step in the transformation.  All you have to do is sell enough of your toys from Wal Mart layaway and then you can ride in style.
Just bolt in a pair of these retrofit Vanagon seats into Homer and the green color should actually just start to spread on its own.
Sell a few more toys and get you some armrests to go on them.  Oooh!  How comfy!

Let's see, $995 for the pair of seats, plus $75 per armrest (they suggest just getting the inner armrests, as the outers just interfere with the stock door armrests)...that's only $1145.

Man, those look comfy!
But after dropping a grand on them, I'm afraid all I could afford to do is sit on them in my driveway! :?

Nice doors, Zen. They complete the look!
