On June 17–19, 2004 the DeLorean Car Show was held in Pigeon Forge, TN.

I have been pretty much been working non stop since January to get my car ready for this event.  Rebuilt the fuel system, cooling system, air mixture unit, lowered 1.5 inches, and so on an on.  So, here are a few pics of my car from the show:

My day started out early by making the 150 mile trip from North GA to Pigeon Forge.

My Car (2812) gets ready for Judging:

Oh the pressure!  2812 goes under the gun:

How will 2812 fair against such nice cars in it’s class? Over look the crazy owner:

Maybe my engine will get me a few extra points:

Alas, 2812 doesn’t make the cut, but the Sun Star replica of it takes the win:

Me with Claudia Wells (Jennifer from Back to the Future):

You've done a fantastic job with it Jai!  It looks great!  All you need now is to get the Flux Capacitor working . . .

All I can say is WOW !!!!!  Now thats the way its suppose to be done. What kind of condition were the camshafts in ? Do you know about the Del. that lurks in a garage in Tiftonia ? Belongs to a friend of mine.Haven`t seen him in a while. I guess he still has it. I think you qualify for the coveted "CRAZY NUT" award for this project. As the Brits.would say: Well done Laddy!!  :D

Jai,

Just wanted to let you know that Target has a few DeLorean screen tees.  They are in the mens department, folded on a table and have that vintage look.  Pretty cool.

But knowing you, you probably already have them.

Jai, you have done a totally awsome job with that car. I would never have thought it was the same car you started with.   A GREAT JOB, EVEN IF IT DIDN'T BRING HOME A TROPHY!!

Thanks everyone for the compliments!  Maybe now that the DMC show is over with, I can actually continue working on my VWs!  I was happy just to take my car to the show.  There were a few things with the car that I knew would kill me in judging (i.e. Paint on the fascias), but it wasn't possible for me to have them done by the show.  I really didn't get into the motor during my upgrades.  All the systems I rebuilt were attached to the motor.  The farthest into the motor I ventured was the valve covers.  The car only had 17K miles on it, so I figured I really didn't need to go any farther than what I did.  The car ran wonderfully during the whole time I was in Pigeon Forge.  I put 400 miles on it over that weekend.
