Sometimes I forget why I like old air-cooled VWs so much. I just spent the last 3 1/2 hours out in the cold replacing the water pump and thermostat in a '93 S-15 Jimmy. Right now I KNOW why I like air-cooled VWs so much! :wink:

Sounds like me Zen, only i spent 45 minutes out in 15 degrees in the snow and 2 miles out on a 2 lane street between the corn fields saturday night about 11:55pm. One of my front tires shreded ( not blown ) as i drove home. It was fun doing it by flashlight.

The fun part was when i put my spare on i found out it barely had any air in it and it totaly came off the rim after about 50 yards so i just drove home on the rim. What fun. .........

. I miss my beetle.

My dad's spares were only tires in the sense they were round and once made of rubber...

Love that movie. The city i live in is like the one in the movie. don't worry about the jokes about my misfortune. My whole day was like that so why should it have ended good. I guess i should have checked the spare more than the one time i did sence i got the car 3 years ago.........

I don't carry a spare. That way I don't have to worry about what shape it's in.
