Exhaust pipe is dragging but you are running late for work and don't have time to fix it? . . .

are you just posting these so that you can find them when you need to fix something?

I've actually done the wiper thing before.  Don't knock it.  It got me home!  Oh, yeah, on the hanging your exhaust pipe by the seat belt . . . that only works on sections of exhaust that are not hooked to the engine.  You need metal coat hangers if the pipe gets hot.  The one with the wood body kit . . . for some strange reason, it made me think of Smelly Cat.   ;D

One of the best one for me was when a guy and his wife drove their old Type-2 into my shop to get a new gen. belt . He had driven about 5miles . Get this , One of his wifes nylon stockings wrapped around the pulleys and tied in a knot.  :o

I've actually heard that from my grandmother before. She even tried to get me to keep a pair of nylons in my car for just such an emergency. I was like, if I'm gonna go to the trouble of putting spare parts in the car, why not just keep an extra belt handy?

No spare tire ?  I have a friend that had a bad leak in a tire miles from help and found a big wood screw in the trunk along with a hand pump. It got him home.  No such thing as "fix-a-flat' back then.

There's a coat hanger holding the muffler up on my S-10 right now!   :D  In my defense, I did not put it there . . . it was on there when I got the truck and my theory is, if it ain't broke, don't fix it . . . and if it IS broke, don't fix it if you can get by with it being broken . . . and if you MUST fix it, try the cheapest fix first.  Then if that don't work, fix it right and kick yourself in the rear for not doing it right the first time.   8)

No option here. I'm out of coat hangers and if I have to lay on the cold, cold ground to fix it right, I can't get back up. Oh dread ! Whats a man to do ?  >:(
