Hey All new here

« on: September 25, 2009, 12:31:04 PM »
My name is jaime, I just got my very first bug last night! My husband went to pick it up from my mother in law last night out in Chattanooga.
we live down in Franklin County. I am a very proud and excited owner of my 1973 SuperBeetle. I admit I am not sure how to drive a manual yet, I've been successful in the past but I am not very good..but I am determined to learn.

I posted a picture in the picture section, its pretty much restored to a good working condition, other then a few things that I would like to do. We may probably repaint it.

I am so excited to be part of your message boards and once I get the hang of my bug, we are gonna hit some of your events :)

Good to hear from you Jaime. Shifting gears is like riding a bike. You'll do fine. We would like to meet both of you and of course see the car. Your welcome anytime.

Ya I learned in a nissan truck and got it, but that was the last time i drove it, was 18 or so then lol...now i am 32.

i tried yrs later in a neon but i couldn't get it out of first beer, the bug seems to be a lot easier then the cars I've seen course I haven't even driven it yet, because of rain and I work at nights.

I like you already.

I'm new here too and I'm also driving a '73 (although mine's a Ghia) and I have beer on my mind when I'm getting ready for work.

Coincidence? You decide

LOL Awesome thanks for the warm welcome guys. Spy, I love your screen name. I am a hippie by heart even though I missed that decade of love and fun being only 32, but I live in a time warp sometimes, I like to say!

Anyone know where I can find the original Super Beetle's colors on a 73, i found one website but it doesn't seem to do much justice to the colors..

From what i can tell, the cars original color was the powder kinda blue color..

My hubby is gonna take me driving today, no rain and not much going on! I am excited and hope i am a fast learner.

sweet, I've wasted so much time, well its not truly a waste! Getting information about the cars and looking up a bunch of cool things. I joked with my husband that I wonder if I can pop that little fasten seat belt light cover that pops on when you shift the car, and get something that fits similar in there that says keep on truckin, so each time i shift it will light up and remind me :)
