I like yours better!

From what I've heard that guy can be a pain to deal with. He always has some really off the wall cars on his lot and you can check it out (its around 3356 Us hwy 129, Maryville, tn). I went there once before to look at all the different stuff and it was kinda cool. Looks like most of his stuff is a little over priced, but he might actually know what he is doing (vs  a crap shot on whether a previous owner knew anything about air cooled cars).

If you like any of them, go for it, but I wouldn't swap car + cash for any of those. I might request some cash on top if anything.

If I had 2500, id much rather have yours than take a trip to maryville. The reason I'm considering this guy is that he wants to trade. In all honesty, id love to trade for a drivable bus project, but turning a squareback into a bus is hard work. Lol

They made 25 million or so beetles, get one that is unique if you just have to have a beetle.
They made WAY less type 3's.
IF it was me and I just didn't like the square, I'd go with the ?EURO? '68 but I'd do my research 1st.
If I had the $'s I'd offer 2K for the yellow one.
Just my $0.02.

Also, the tail lights on the yellow one ARE non-US spec tail lights.  My '71 JAP 1302 has the same yellow flashers.

thanks for the replies guys. My main concern with the square is that it is going to need some front end work, namely the front axle replaced, and possibly the steering box. I dont know where to find those sorts of parts, especially for a squareback, and assume they are expensive because of how many type 3's were made.

Keep the square is where I'd be.  Yeah, parts are a bit more, but still not that bad if you take your time sourcing them.  And, they are a hell of a lot cooler and less commonly seen.  Ceck out the Samba website, you are obviously familiar with that one.  And, if you want it lowered, a friend of mine builds custom beams to fit the type 3s that are type 1 based, and does a great job with them... sells them all over the country.   8)

alvin off of cleavland highway had a sqaure sitting out there a while back in the junkyard and i think the front end was somewhere over there lol, walt might have one lying around iam not sure .... they  might can hook you up, but i like the idea of a t1 beam as parts are everywhere for those front ends... my car was slammed but is in the process of getting raised up cause its my only car and iam tired of hitting pebbles in the road!  ;D
