Health Inspections

« on: April 07, 2006, 11:23:56 AM »
Just wondering if anyone noticed this latest conspiracy? I know for a fact BK in Ooltewah got a 99 on their score.(my wife got a fat check for it) She actually saw several other places scores that were really bad . But as Russ mentioned the score on the official Tn web page says different.

Restaurants are required to post these scores, ever notice how many don't? Ever notice the dates on some of the high scores? Ever notice that sometimes the score on paper the inspector writes down ends up to get alot higher when it reaches the office? Of course we don't I did a little check of a few places and noticed a few differences in scores posted at the place and on the web,the ones on the web seemed higher in most cases but lower by a few. No I didn't check all of Chattanooga. I've just been noticing it over a period of time.

I really could give a hoot,I'll eat anything that won't eat me except  kimchee or something equaly nasty. It just seems shady. I got a whole list of things to look for when dining to gross you out . It stupid stuff but if you think about it ,then you relize how nasty it is.

I need to get a life! Well food for thought anyways enjoy your next dining experience.

Here's my outlook on heath inspection scores . . .  :-$

What you don't know won't hurt you . . . well, yeah, it might, but at least you won't see it coming and won't worry about it ahead of time.

When I think of how much raw hamburger meat and Chinees food as I have eaten over the last 45 years, there is no need to worry about a number given by a government worker who, may or may not have a clue what they are doing.  If someplace looks nasty enough, I'll find someplace else to eat.  If I eat someplace and get sick enough, I won't eat there again.   8)

I guess it depends on the resteraunt,They cook the crap outta most fast food so I think it would be hard to hurt you.But the awfull waffle has the goods to mess you up pretty good. (eggs, raw chicken,etc...)  I've been to many places and been told don't eat the local food ,don't touch that or drink that. I've never had a problem yet. I figure you gotta keep your imune system up by using it every now and again.

If the health inspector walked into your house right now unannounced and graded your kitchen, what kind of score would you get?

Here's the scorecard containing the criteria Tennessee uses to grade: http://www.state.tn.us/agriculture/regulate/stores/inspection.html

A lot of the things that could add up to a failing grade don't necessarily mean you would get sick by eating there. I'm not saying the inspections are meaningless, but I don't think it's as critical. Most places you probably wouldn't want to look in the kitchen anyways, passing score or not.

It all started with a sonic,my wife saw their score but the posted official score was much higher. Turns out my wife explained that if they have critical errors then they must retest within 24 hrs so I guess the mystery is solved  and I still need to get a life.

There was an error while liking
