Hummm, I was there.
I did see Russ, but forgot radio ;D
I ordered the cable when I ordered radio.
Thanks for the Ghia script, it looks BOSS on the ghia.
Now If I can just get the bumpers shipped Jennie could be done...
KC

Glad it worked out. I had been sitting on that thing for about 6 months now and I was scared I'd break it. I had Chad Magee (RatlookVW) in my garage one day looking at parts and he said "WHOA, get this out of this bin, these ghia scripts break really easily!" Been waiting to unload it since.

I just ordered another radio. I'm not sure if mine was suffering from the first night of ownership when it got submerged or what, but it seems as though I was cutting in and out a lot. Matthew and I had radios side by side and his would receive, but mine wouldn't, unless I had my hand on the antennae... I bit the bullet and bought a black UV-5R, which should work with all my batteries and antennas. I also bought the 7.5" antennae.

The nice thing about getting a new radio is you can just clone your settings from the old one and you're done. No need to reprogram from scratch.

HAMfest Chattanooga was yesterday. Matthew and I went and checked everything out. I picked up a used 2meter mobile rig for my truck. I bought it off a guy who used to do weather for US 101 for $60 and got a new mag-mount antenna for a few bucks more. Matthew ended up winning the same radio in a silent auction! Now we both have the Icom IC-2100H radios. I started my installation last night and finished it up right before he came over today... My radio wouldn't transmit by the time I had it fully installed. The battery was too dead from having the doors open. Matthew showed up and we put his in his jeep as well. It was so much easier to install his than it was to completely disassemble my dash!

We got a radio check around 5pm and we both received 5-5 (readability-strength) so we are in business! And that was just on "low" power. High power is 50watts!!!

LEVEL UP!

Nick and I passed the General licence test tonight. Can't wait to squander all my new permissions on HF!

Wish I had paid more attention to the electrical components and circuit sections so I could rewire my new Atari cocktail table, but that is a topic for a new thread.
