Got Paint?

« on: November 04, 2008, 08:13:04 PM »
Well after many, many hours of labor stripping the pan for my '73 std, I have finally installed new floorpans and applied seam sealer and paint!  Oh joyous day!!  It feels good to have one major part of my restoration complete.  Now I get to do some shopping and start installing new parts!  The paint did not turn out as I had planned.  I first wanted to spray it, but the mess and overspray in my shop did not sound good to me.  So ::cringe:: I brushed it.  It will be thick enough to inhibit rust and I know for a fact that all areas were covered.  Below are some pics.

And for those that do not know what I started with...

Looks good to me!  I've owned 20 or 30 Beetles over the last 12 or 13 years . . . I've never owned one that had a paint job that good on the body!   8)  Keep up the good work.  I can't wait to see what the finished product is going to look like!
