Does anyone remember reliable motors in chattanooga ? vw dealership I guess, I'm most not be old enough, I dont recall it.. Anyway I found two dealer tags and a tag frame from there. Today while out junkin' jus'' wondering if anyone remembers. I'll post a pic when my daughter brings the camera home..

Sure do. In the middle 70's I think ,my old stomping grounds Southland Volkswagen was sold to a group headed up by a friend of mine named Tom Carmichel and renamed Reliable Volkswagen. Several years later was sold again, renamed Tri-State Volkswagen. Resold in '86 to Nelson Bowers who owned BMW next door. renamed Village Volkswagen. I was the service mang. at that time for a year. Bowers moved VW dealership to where it is today and the original building was taken over by Infinity on Brainerd Rd.

FYI At the time of Southland Volkswagen sale, It was the oldest VW dealership East of the Mississippi River. Here in Chattanooga . How 'bout that.
