Ghost up for auction

« on: December 04, 2004, 05:45:07 PM »
I ran across this news tidbit about a woman selling her father's ghost on eBay.  Here's the link

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=19270&item=5539709069&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW

The bidding is already over $100!

It says it will help her son overcome her fear of his grandfather's "ghost"!
OK then.

I just looked at this and the bidding has gone OVER $14,000. That figure is NOT a misprint. There have been 81 bids on this.

On Dec-05-04 at 05:26:10 PST, seller added the following information:

As you can see I have cancelled those outrageous bids for this. Please don't go overboard on this. I just want to make my son feel at ease here. I am trying to read everyones questions. I know there are copy-cats with the exact same auction going on. Although I am glad they took some of the attention away from here I don't like the few that are using my fathers photo.
I am a nervous wreck right now, I can't believe this went so far. Please keep the bidding at a minimum.. Thank you

So, I guess the $477 bid that it's at now isn't an "outrageous" bid for a ghost . . .

Maybe I should pull some of the "skeletons" out of my closet.  Maybe they would bring in a few hundred . . . :-k

The bidding ended at $65,100 . . . the high bidder has 140 positive feedbacks and no neutral or negitives.  P.T. Barnum said it best.  "There's a sucker born every minutes"
