One more good hard freeze should rid me of the remainder of the CPVC in my house and cabin.  Bring on the cold air!!!   ;D

Single digit temps and no busted pipes!  PEX is the only way to go!

Guess I spoke too soon.  This afternoon Joy said their was a little water running out from under the washing machine.  The hot water hose was leaking at the washing machine.  I replaced the hose washer, but still couldn't stop the leak.  The connectors were pretty rusty, so I had to replace the hose.  Got a pair of them at ACE for $15.  When I installed them, I noticed they have an "expiration date" stamped on them.  They say replace before 2021.  The old hoses were old hoses when we got a new washer 15 or so years ago.  Maybe that had something to do with it.

. . . and the new hose was leaking this morning!   >:(  It thought, "it just needs a little more tightening." . . . couldn't get it any tighter by hand so I bought out the a pair of pliers.   :o  That made it worse.  A LOT WORSE.  :o Turned the hot water valve off . . . problem solved . . . for now . . .  8)

I think I may have stripped the plastic piece the hoses screw in to.  Oh well, I haven't had to work on this washer yet.  About time I got started!
