Thanks for coming up. I enjoyed the company and help! Lots of iffy weather and iffy driving on a "drying" course both days. I managed to not ruin my rain tires, though. The next event is a double race at Road Atlanta on the 16-17 of July. Should be a good weekend. Now to get some paint on that car!

Eike, here's the driver's school schedule for the rest of the year. It looks like if you were to get both in you'd have to travel a bit.

Date   Event   Venue   Region/State
7/8/2011   NER July Driver School   NHMS   New England Region
7/16/2011   Central Florida July Driver School    Sebring-Short Course   Central Florida Region

10/6/2011   Glen Oct Last Chance Driver School   Watkins Glen International   Glen Region
12/2/2011   Texas Dec Christmas Super School   Texas Motor Speedway- 2.4   Texas Region

OR... there are some non-SCCA schools that you can go to that will count, such as:
PORSCHE SPORT DRIVING SCHOOL
6040 Barber Motorsports Pkwy.
Leeds, AL  35094
888-204-7474
www.porschedriving.com

(near Birmingham, AL)

You might only have to do one school there, I'm not sure. The requirements are at scca.com under "club racing". I still bet you could at least rent the Vee I told you about! You'd do the Barber school in their Porsches, of course.

Okay, guys, here's your chance to do some racing! Next Solo event that the SCCA's doing is Saturday and Sunday at Eastgate Mall! Classes for any make and model of car and you don't have to be a member to participate. Saturday we're doing it in conjunction with the Mini Meet that's in town, so there'll be several of those there, too. For info, go to:

What is involved with this?
Is it an autocross course in the parking lot?
How are the classes divided? (I have the 1300 cc.)
Thanks,
KC

Yep, Its a laid out course with 90's,180's , right /left turns all marked with traffic cones.  You drive as fast as you can without knocking any cones over which will add time to your lap. I use to race a much modified FV in these events. I just loved to whip up on Corvette's and Mustangs. Southeast SCCA champion for 3 years in a row. I'm not sure what class your car would be in now. A lot of fun if you don't break your car.

I stopped by for a few minutes but had to run on. I only saw three cars run. Looks like fun.
