Food Bank Donation - over 1,000 pounds!

« on: April 28, 2003, 03:52:03 PM »
Laurie Vaughn called me today from the Chattanooga Area Food Bank, and she was so excited!

We raised over 1,400 pounds of food at BP5!!!

She was saying that they wanted to help out with publicity next year!!!  She also said that was a record for us.  I told her we would see her at the Share Your Christmas Food Drive.

Is Laurie Moore and Laurie Vaughn the same person?   ???  Just wondering.

At any rate, over 1400 pound of food?!?  That's impressive!  I didn't think we pulled in near the food we had in the past.  I don't know why I thought that . . . Guess I just didn't have time to look at the barrels.

There are 2 different Lauries.  Laurie V. said that the other one did pretty much leave to raise her new kid who just turned one the other day.

I don't know if old laurie just didn't give us totals before or what.  I guess they did have records showing our previous donations though for new laurie to be able to tell me it was a record for us.

In 2001 we had our biggest donation to date (food and money) to the food bank at 1000 pounds of food and $1250 cash.

Last year we donated the cash ($2500) to the Shrine Ladies, and I think we had over 1000 pounds of food . . . I'm pretty sure they told us the weight, but I couldn't swear to it.
