Die-cast racing at shows; how do y'all run it?

« on: March 26, 2005, 08:02:27 PM »
Hi, guys, posted here as I have offered to help set up/run die-cast
races at NAVWC's Bug'n in July (links in show forum soon). That said,
I've never done any racing at shows, much less organized it. I know
y'all have had 1/64 racing at BaP before and it's been popular; hoping
to learn from your previous success. Whose track (RacingGrooves, etc.)
is a big unknown, but how did you do your heats, etc.; were prizes
given out, did you charge a track fee (this show benefits the Harris
Home for Children, so that would work nicely). Any advice?

                                     Thanks in advance, Dolphe

Hey, We've had volve cover races before but this will be our first attempt at the 1/64th scale car races. We got track donated to us by Hobby Town, USA here in Chattanooga. It's not Hot Wheels tm track but it looks like it might be more flexible. We're going to attach it to our down hill valve cover track and we're going to furnish the cars. We're still in the decision stage as to just exactly how we will do it but we will give the cars to the kids when they are thru racing. Or that is the plan right now.
