Daniel(Danny) Clippinger

« on: June 30, 2011, 10:42:45 AM »
The last of my Boss's at Southland VW has died at age 82. Danny and his Dad "Mr Dan" and Danny's mom started Southland VW in 1954 as one of the first VW dealerships in the country. I started my VW career there in July 1964. Danny loved to race cars as a hobby in the SCCA. His last toy was a Porsche RSK 356 Speedster with the DOHC Carrera (?) 4 cam(2 camshafts on each head)and all aluminum body. Silver of course.
Just like James Dean's Porsche except more powerful engine
and lighter body. Rest in Peace my friend.

Heard the name... heard many of the old stories...

R.I.P., Danny.

I need to correct this. Danny's Porsche was a 718-2 Spyder and not a Speedster.
