Dear Sirs:
I would like to make contact with one of your members that uses Ret.Bugtech. The reason is that we are trying to trace the ownership of a Porsche 550A-0139 that Porsche archives says was shipped to Mr.Dan Clippinger in 1958(?) A search of the internet found the discussion of the VW dealership that Mr.C owned and where Ret.Bugtech worked also his obituary. Porsche 0139 is now part of the Collection here. We are trying to trace the ownership/race trail.Your help is much appreciated. Thank you Paul

There were two . Dan Clippinger(Mr Dan) and his son "Danny" but Danny was not a JR.  Mr Dan died years ago and Danny died last summer(?) in his 80's.   I remember the 550A . But did not see any of the events with the car. Danny's racing day's were over by the time I was employed by Southland VW.

Dear Nick:
This is great! I thought you might like to see what the car looks like
now.

Thank you for doing this. If we can be of any help to you please let us
know. We have access to an extensive research library. See the website
at www.revsinstitute.org. That might be of interest to your members.

No Dang it!  Danny was the ONLY one who worked on it and I just got to gape at and HEAR it for a short while. He sold the 550 just after I went to work at Southland. I think he just got tired of wiping the drool off and keeping all of us red neck kids at bay.
