Connecting rod numbers

« on: April 16, 2014, 11:43:15 PM »
Ok, so I am learning how to tell the difference in connecting rods but I have one that stumped me. For our trophies, we use the standard 1300-1600 rod, the part number is something like 311-105-411B. They have studs on the caps and nuts to secure the two halves. The 40hp rods, which have the part number 113-105-411A, have bolts the to through on the rod side and thread into the cap. But I have found some 311-105-411A rods in a bucket that was donated. They look identical to the 311-105-411B rods but they have bolts like the 40hp. I am at a loss as to what these would fit and google has t resulted in much either.

Anyone know?!?! Are they valuable before I doom them to life on a trophy?

How many did you end up with?
May be Non US Spec 1300 DP rods?
Just a thought.
I believe someone at the dealer can look that part up in the EKTA system and it will tell you what the application is...

Yeah, I've found those and the thread where someone had some but didn't know what they fit. He has had no responses in something like 6 years. Still doesnt say what they fit.

Going by the deleted ad, it looks like they sold for $80.

So, I was making one of the many rounds at Circle Yer Wagens this past weekend, when we started talking to some folks. One of them said that they had seen on our forum where someone was asking about connecting rod part numbers  ;D He explained that they were often sought out because they were identical to the 1600 rods, except they were slightly lighter, probably because of the fact they use a bolt instead of the stud. He said to the average person, they wouldn't notice the difference, but for someone wanting a set, they'd know exactly what they were. They could be highly sought after, so I'm not going to use them for trophies.
