Can I install ice maker in a chest freezer?

« on: January 01, 2009, 09:44:01 AM »
So when the holidays arrived and my wife opened the Fridge, the  shelf on the door broke and everything fell on the floor.  I had previously repaired it and other problems with duct tape  " White".   I had to get a new Fridge.  Looking around we found a Fridge only and bought it.  Its huge,  no freezer at all.    I still got the old fridge on the Porch next to Stupie,   They seem to like each other.

Here is the problem,  No ice maker No more

Here is the idea,  Take the ice maker out of the old fridge,  Drill some holes for wires and water line in the Chest freezer.  Put the ice maker in the chest freezer,  Am I missing something?  Could it work?.  Any Appliance Techs out there? SC

Is there an Volks Folks appliance forum?
