In West Virginia, last week we had an awful wreck at the Blankenship residence. It seems this driver lost control of his bus, and took a plunge straight to the bottom of the lake. :D

too bad the driver didn't roll the windows up so it would float!

You know, something like this is probably what started that urban legend about the diver who went down to inspect the bottom of a dam and saw a "catfish big enough to swallow a person whole!"

And just as a triva note . . . there aren't any roll up windows on a split window bus!     And if it's anything like the two I own, closing the windows wouldn't help it float anyway.     Closing the flow through ventilation might, but that would require a lot of sheet metal and a welder.  I guess in a case like this I'd have to hire an underwater welder . . . but those guys won't go near it 'cause they've heard stories about these fish down there that are big enough to swallow you whole!

This whole thing looks FISHY to me. I don't belive it could have happened .  After all W.Va does not have area of land level enough to have a lake. I even heard that you had to strap yourselve to the "John" when nature called to keep from falling off or attach Velcro in the appropriate places.

I just absolutely love threads like this one. :inlove: I wonder if a certain little boy had anything to do with this bus going "swimming"?

Yep, Herb, you nailed it.  this kid keeps us in stiches.. he is a trip.  he thought the bus in there was so cool, and he wanted to put dump trucks, backhoes, and race cars and all kinds of stuff in there.  he stood there for the first couple days glued to the glass "waiting for a fish to go in the bus".

With both the door AND the roof open seems like the water could simply flow back out into the "pond"!  Of course, fish wake would tend to sink it again pretty quickly!
