Bus Boys - Not just Bus stuff...

« on: December 04, 2001, 05:16:27 PM »
Bus Boys (http://www.bus-boys.com) has a "Blow Out" page of items they are clearing from their inventory . . . not just bus stuff, but Type 1 and 3 stuff too . . . I think there were even some Rabbit parts listed.  They have some dirt cheap window rubber that has "gone through a mud slide" and needs cleaning, but is supposed to be brand new, high quality stuff.  It looks like some real bargins, BUT, I've never dealt with them.  I know nothing about their products or service, but the prices look good.

Hey Letsbuggy,

If you are still needing the tail light lenses for you buggy, check out the blowout page on the Bus Boys site.  It shows some 68-70 Tail light lenses for $3.95 each!  They say "Euro Style with amber tops."

How in the world did you ever find a 10 year old post?  I didn't realize we have had our forum that long!   ;D

You bet we do! In fact the earliest post we have is from December 3rd, 2001...which is coming up on 11 years old now.

The board has been through lots of server changes, software migrations and upgrades, but the database has been kept intact through each iteration.

Want to dig even further back? Prior to our first forum in 2001 (running on ikonboard, which was set up by Andy Bardas), the club ran a mailing list on egroups.com.

eGroups was eventually acquired by Yahoo! and turned into Yahoo! Groups, after which it didn't seem to work as well so the decision was made to shut down the Volks Folks group and everyone moved over to the new forums.

Even though the group isn't active, the messages remain online! You can go back and read them - going back all the way to 1998.

Also, I put together an archive of the site as it appeared through the years, since 2001: http://www.volksfolks.org/wayback/
