Richard did a great job in restoring this car.  Pricing a classic car is always tricky, but knowing how good of condition this car is in I would have to say $3-5k is too low.

I agree 13,000 is high, but that is what we have to pay taxes on.I am going to email Bonnie at Blood Assurance and see how they came to that amount.

I agree that it WAS a really nice car.   $13,000  is way out of line. What really hurts is the fact that it was re- painted yellow from the original  color of blue and if they didn't take it apart to paint it I would bet it has a bunch of blue paint somewhere.  What a shame.  :(

I would sure like to know where /who came up with $13,000.  Even Albert deAllison would be "outta here" for that kind of money

Your VW is only worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it. NADA'S high retail is only $8600.00. It's really hard to get a value on a classic car.
FeeBee's price just came down $9500.00.  Here's something to chew on. According to NADA there is no 1971 Super Beetle convertible
Beetle
•  2 Door Convertible
•  2 Door Sedan

Beetle Super
•  2 Door Sedan

What's up with that? So a 1971 beetle convertible high retail is $13,000.00 What is FEEBEE :?

Good Question.  I didn't know that NADA still listed Aircooled VW.  I always thought that NADA just went back 10 years. Haven't looked at a NADA book in years so what do I know.
Check your vin #.    You can find it under the back seat ,on the tunnel where the little cover plate is .   The third # will tell the year.  I think the first two #'s  will be 15.     Yours might read 151******* for a '71 or 152******** for a '72 and so on.
I can be corrected on this, but I think all "verts" 71 and up were Super B.
so maybe thats why NADA list all "verts" as just beetle "verts"

There was an error while liking
