I've never gotten any work done there myself, but think I've heard several folks talk about getting VW glass replaced at the place up on the hill next to Village VW (ABRA???).

I had my S-10 windshield replaced at Glass Masters on Lee Highway last April (April 27th to be exact).  They had just got their power back on after the tornados that morning, but their computer system was still down.  They still kept my appointment and did an excellent job.  Tax and all it was $141.  That's the best $141 bucks I've ever spent on that truck!  The windshield they replaced was one I installed myself . . . $38 for the used windshield from Pull-A-Part, $15 for the sticky, messy, tar smeelling glue . . . and we cracked it putting it in, the old trim was broken up and it leaked, so for 3 years the carpet stayed wet and the truck smelled musty.  The lesson I learned was that some things are Do It Yourself projects . . . but a glued-in windshield should be left to professionals.

Grant's Auto Glass (not the trim shop) in downtown Chat. They also know how to do the older cars with the rubber seals. Lots of experience there!
