Any one thinking of buying a newer VW?

« on: January 27, 2012, 01:50:36 PM »
Just dropped by Al Johnson VW on my way to work this morining.
They actually have some nice used (not used up ) VW's in stock at what I thought were reasonable prices.
I test drove an '04 Beetle TDI with 85K miles, that they were asking $10K for it.
They had done the service work and all records were available.
Another reason to go to Dalton would be that Justin Quillen (Zen's son) works there.  So I am just saying that there is another VW dealer in the area with some nice prices.
So if your thinking of buying a new or new to you car, just check them out.
Also, don't forget to ask for Justin when you go in.

I am just putting this out there, I have no dog in this fight.

That's not a bad price for a TDI.

Also, my friend Perry is now in charge of the parts department at Village. He and Sal judged water-cooled classes last year and they are on board again this year. If you need parts from Village, be sure to tell Perry you're with the club.

I had a 2012 Beetle for a rental car a couple of weeks ago and it was a blast. Comfortable, fun and utility. Plan to test drive a turbo model. Anybody have one yet?

I have one of the 2012 Beetle's and love it!  Great riding car.  It is the yellow with the sunroof and fancy sound system.

The dash in the new ones is very retro looking,  I think they did a great job improving it

Personally I prefer staying in the late '80s and early '90. I love the original bug, I just don't think I personally could ever own one. The new one is a great car and I have drove it the one thing I didn't like was I felt like I was sitting up too high. I do not like the CC at all. Again this is my personal opinion, but I love the styling of the '91-'99 Jetta and Golf

I think with the right wheels and stance the 2012 could resemble a 356sc. I would drive one. Always liked the jetta wagons.
