Looks like its time for one of these

http://www.harborfreight.com/long-reach-rope-chain-saw-97092.html

I bought one of those yesterday morning.  I had a few limbs in a pin oak that have grown over where they are right on my roof so I tried it out on them first (they are lower and smaller).  I got it stuck in the first branch about three or four times and finally broke it.  I got it fixed (a rivet had poped out of a link), but that thing is too much like work.  I'm thinking of duct-taping my electric chain saw to some type of pole . . .  ;)

;D  It started it slow decent to the ground sometime in the summer of 2010.  Some time last night it completed it's journey . . . and my good 8' folding table/portable work bench cushioned it's landing.  :'(  At least now I can breath easy when I'm on that side of the yard.   8)

And I only replaced ONE of the windshields!  Cheap, but it took a while.  I guess you gott'a pay for speed.  Now there's another half broken limb in this tree . . . it's even bigger than this one, but the far end of it is resting peacefully in a maple tree and it's still alive.  I still get a little nervious when I park under it.   ;)

That table has a mere flesh wound.   Lets fix it with 3 drywall screws and a 2x4.   SC

It actually didn't destroy it.  It hit right smack dab in the middle, so nothing bent on either set of legs.  It did crack the plastic on the edges and punched a small hole in the center of the top (just the top layer, it didn't bust out the bottom).  The only thing metal that bent was the rail running down each side.  Justin picked the limb up off of it and then picked the center of the table up and bent it back fairly straight.  It'll stand up on it's own, but it's kind'a weak in the center.

I think if I pull the top off, I can straighten up and brace the bent frame and get a little practice in with my Harbor Freight flux core welder to boot.  Maybe I can fill in the small hole in the top with some expandable spray foam.  Anyway, your right SC . . . the table suffered only a mere flesh wound.  I'll either fix it or destroy it trying!   ;D

I may live in "The Triangle," but I wasn't born there!  I call your attention to the following excerpt from my previous post:

Besides, I've tried welding metal with plastic attached to it before.  And you're right.  Smells like melted plastic.   ;D

By the time I spend $55 bucks on the tool to "properly" repair the plastic top, I'm probably better off just buying a new table.  Besides, I've been using this thing outside as a portable workbench for the past year . . . It's not like a few cracks or holes is going to hurt it.  I just need to make the frame sturdy again.  SC's 2X4 and drywall screws will actually do the trick, but that would make it heavier and I'm too lazy to carry around a heavy table.  Maybe I'll whack it in two pieces, shorten it a little to cut the bad stuff out and install Rick's hinges to make it fold in the middle . . .  ;D
